Wrongful death: Crash at intersection claims life of motorcyclist

Although many motorcyclists may choose to proceed with caution around other drivers, some may find it difficult to respond to certain scenarios in time to avoid collision. Accidents involving motorcycles can be devastating incidents that could leave a family mourning over a sudden and unexpected loss. A recent collision between a motor vehicle and motorcycle has led to the apparent wrongful death of a man in West Virginia.

Law enforcement agents advised that the incident took place on a recent Thursday as the motorcyclist approached a local intersection. According to reports, a nearby vehicle failed to yield to a traffic light and subsequently drove into the path of the bike. Her vehicle struck the man's bike soon thereafter, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident and they have advised that the driver of the vehicle is facing criminal charges. Losing a loved one in a similar incident can be a difficult thing to accept and such a loss could leave a family in search of answers. Should another driver be deemed responsible in a fatal crash, a family may wish to pursue restitution through the civil justice system.

Experiencing an untimely loss due to the negligence of another driver can be a harrowing experience. Those who encounter a similar situation could choose to speak with a personal injury attorney for guidance on the available options for legal recourse. An attorney can assist a client in West Virginia in pursuing the full amount of compensation entitled through a wrongful death claim against the party deemed culpable.
