DUI suspected in crash that leads to apparent wrongful death

Individuals who choose to operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs run a greater risk of creating dangerous scenarios. Motor vehicle accidents involving impaired drivers can have devastating outcomes and those who encounter such negligence may be left with little chance of escaping to safety. A recent collision involving the suspected presence of impairment has reportedly led to the apparent wrongful death of a man in West Virginia.

According to reports, authorities responded to the scene of the accident on a recent Sunday. Preliminary investigations indicate it occurred when the driver of a vehicle suddenly shifted into and began traveling in the wrong lane of traffic. This vehicle proceeded to crash into an oncoming car head-on soon thereafter.

Police say that the second vehicle was carrying a newlywed couple and state that one of them was pronounced dead at the scene. The other person was reportedly airlifted to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Police also advised that impairment appears to have played a role in the crash and they say that the driver who caused the accident has been arrested and is now facing multiple charges.

Suffering the unexpected loss of a loved one in a fatal collision can be a stressful and harrowing experience.
