Shawn C. Simms was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and has lived here his whole life. Shawn graduated from West Virginia State University in 2017 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Political Science. Shawn went to West Virginia University College of Law where he graduated in 2020. During his time in law school, Shawn was a member of the Marlyn Lugar Trial Association and was Chief Justice of the Student Government Association Judicial Court. Shawn had internships with Judge Duke Bloom, the Kanawha County Public Defender Office, Legal Aid of West Virginia, and the General Practice clinic of the WVU Clinical Law Program. Shawn is a member of both the West Virginia Association of Justice and the American Association for Justice.

Shawn began his legal career in July of 2024 at Hill, Peterson, Carper, Bee, & Deitzler, PLLC, as an associate. Ever since a close member of Shawn’s family was injured by medical negligence, he has had a deep passion for personal injury law that he is excited to bring to the firm. 

Shawn has two children: a daughter named Audrey and a son named Levi. When he is not at work, Shawn enjoys spending time with his children, working on cars, building computers, keeping honeybees, and gardening.
