Motor vehicle accidents: Multiple-car crash kills 1, injures 1

In some cases, it could take little more than a single act of negligence to prompt a chain-reaction of events that may place the well-being of everyone nearby at risk. Many motor vehicle accidents involving multiple vehicles may take place under similar scenarios and the results of such collisions can be devastating. One person died and another suffered severe harm during a recent multiple-vehicle accident in West Virginia.

Authorities reportedly responded to the scene of the crash on a recent Friday morning. According to reports, the crash occurred when the driver of a westbound vehicle drifted into eastbound lanes and collided with a second vehicle. The first vehicle continued to travel in the wrong lane of traffic and proceeded to hit a third vehicle head-on, causing the driver of this vehicle to be ejected from within.

According to reports, the person ejected from the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Another person suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for medical treatment. While an investigation is underway, no further information was provided as to what might have caused the driver of the first vehicle to enter the opposite lanes of traffic.

Motor vehicle accidents can have disastrous consequences that could leave a person with life-altering harm or a family mourning an unexpected loss. Those who suffer such loss or harm due to another party’s actions could choose to consult with an attorney for advice on their available legal avenues. An attorney can examine the incident and assist a client in West Virginia in preparing to pursue the full amount of restitution deserved through a claim against the party deemed at fault.
