Wrongful death: Crash claims life of motorcycle rider

Many avid bike riders may be aware of the risks they face and feel it vital to take every possible measure to stay safe while riding. Unfortunately, some scenarios may be nearly impossible to react to and avoid, and accidents involving motorcycles have a higher chance of leaving a rider with severe injuries, or worse. A recent collision involving a motorcycle and motor vehicle has led to the apparent wrongful death of a motorcycle rider in West Virginia.

According to reports, law enforcement agents responded to the scene of the accident just before 4 p.m. on a recent Saturday. They say the incident took place when, for reasons unknown, the driver of a motor vehicle suddenly pulled directly into the path of a nearby motorcycle. The motorcycle proceeded to strike the vehicle soon thereafter and the rider of the bike suffered severe harm in the process.

Although this person was rushed to a medical facility for treatment, he or she reportedly passed away later on. It remains unclear if any other factors may have played a contributing factor in the crash and no information was provided as to why the driver may have attempted such a maneuver. Authorities have advised that the investigation of the crash is still underway and state that charges may be filed against the driver of the other vehicle once it is finalized.

Upon experiencing the unexpected loss of someone close in a fatal collision, the surviving loved ones of the deceased may be left in search of answers, or even justice. Those who encounter loss under similar circumstances could choose to retain the services of an attorney for guidance on how best to approach the situation. An attorney can help a client in West Virginia better understand what to expect from the process and assist in pursuing the restitution deserved through a wrongful death claim against the party deemed at fault.
