Motor vehicle accidents: 2 injured after car veers off interstate

There are a multitude of circumstances in which a person could lose control of a motor vehicle and veer off the side of the road. Regardless of how it occurs, motor vehicle accidents involving such scenarios run the risk of placing everyone involved in harm’s way. Two individuals were reportedly transported to a medical facility after suffering severe injuries in a single-vehicle collision involving similar circumstances in West Virginia.

Authorities say the incident began after they received reports of a single vehicle crash on a recent Sunday night. An investigation into the crash indicates it took place when for reasons unknown, the driver of a car lost control of the vehicle and veered off the side of the interstate. The car proceeded to collide with a nearby tree and the impact on the crash forced a passenger to be ejected from the vehicle, while the driver remained trapped within.

Authorities say they were able to extract the trapped individual from within the vehicle soon after arriving at the scene. Both men were reportedly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of severe injuries. Although an investigation into the crash is underway, it remains unclear what might have caused the driver to lose control of the car.

Motor vehicle accidents can be stressful and scary incidents that could leave those involved with serious or even life-altering injuries. When the negligent actions of another party cause such an incident to occur, the victim or victims of the crash could choose to seek insight on their available legal avenues by speaking with a personal injury attorney. In doing so, a person in West Virginia could become better prepared to pursue the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled to receive.
