Motor vehicle accidents: 3 injured in multiple-vehicle crash

The influence of alcohol or drugs can have a significant influence on a person’s ability to operate a vehicle. Those who drive while impaired run a greater risk of creating a potentially hazardous scenario. Motor vehicle accidents involving such negligence can have cataclysmic outcomes. As many as three individuals were hospitalized with severe injuries following a multiple-vehicle accident involving a suspected drunk driver in West Virginia.

Authorities say they responded to the scene of a four-vehicle crash involving a school bus on a recent Thursday morning. They say that there were up to six children on the bus at the time of the incident, two of whom were taken to the hospital for treatment of severe injuries. They also advised that a driver of one of the other vehicles also suffered injuries and was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

Although an investigation into the accident has been initiated, no further information was provided as to how the crash occurred. However, authorities have stated that the driver of the bus was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired. According to reports, the bus driver is facing charges for DUI causing injury and DUI with minors in the vehicle.

Motor vehicle accidents involving drunk drivers can have disastrous results that could leave those involved with serious or even permanent injuries. Those who suffer severe harm under similar circumstances may wish to know more about the next steps to take to seek restitution, but they might not be aware of how best to approach the situation. Fortunately, there are attorneys in West Virginia who can evaluate the situation and assist a client in preparing to seek the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled to receive.
