A Bluefield hospital and doctor are facing a wrongful death lawsuit for allegedly failing to properly treat a condition. According to the lawsuit, this lack of proper care ultimately led to the untimely death of a patient. The wrongful death suit seeks compensation for pain, suffering and damages endured because of the apparent inaction of the medical professional and hospital.
According to the report, the man went to his doctor complaining of several severe symptoms. The complaints included respiratory issues, insatiable thirst and exhaustion. Supposedly, his doctor ran various tests to diagnose his condition, after which he was sent home. The next day he was admitted to a West Virginia hospital for acute symptoms, where it was found that he suffered from severe kidney disease and he received additional treatment. It is not clear if the doctor’s tests from the previous day indicated that he had kidney problems or if he suspected that the man had a serious medical condition.
The man’s doctor, who is named as a defendant in the lawsuit, called in orders for the man’s treatment but never personally evaluated the patient. The patient’s condition grew worse and he died the next morning. The lawsuit claims that a lack of medical care led to his death.
It is possible that a lack of proper care contributed to the death of the man, but it is not clear what treatment he received while in the West Virginia hospital. Anyone who feels that they have been mistreated by medical personnel has the right to seek wrongful death or personal injury compensation. Any type of negligence is unacceptable in the medical field, but victims should know that they do not have to suffer alone.
