Woman files wrongful death suit on behalf of brother

Losing a family member can be one of the most difficult situations a person must deal with. In some cases, there can be feelings of anger and regret if the deceased was the victim of a wrongful death. In similar circumstances, some West Virginia residents choose to take legal action against the party responsible for the death.

Recently, a woman was shocked by the untimely death of her brother. After his body was discovered, the woman learned from investigators that the victim had been fatally poisoned with insulin. His wife was arrested and charged, and she has entered a plea of not guilty. The accused wife was supposed to stand trial in January, but the case remains delayed months later.

The victim’s sister took custody of her 4-year-old niece, and she raises the child in her home with her own three children. Meanwhile, she has filed a civil suit against the accused wife. The wife worked at a hospital, and it is reasonable that she had access to insulin.

The sister says she is determined to get justice for her deceased brother and innocent young niece. If a West Virginia resident is interested in taking legal action against a party that may have caused a wrongful death, he or she may want to contact an attorney that has experience handling civil cases. An attorney can help a client utilize the legal system to seek justice on behalf of a loved one. In many cases, a verdict for the plaintiff can result in compensation that can help cover final expenses and necessary services like therapy, adoption fees or modifications to a home. Victims that achieve justice can begin to heal and mourn the loss of a person they loved.
