Hidden danger causes personal injury to students

Across the Mountaineer State, college students are settling in for a new semester on campus. Parents have done their best to warn college-age students about dangers they may face as they strike out on their own, many for the first time. Unfortunately for several students at West Virginia University, a danger no one could have prepared them for has caused serious personal injury, and now families are taking legal action.

Apparently, the school failed to keep students safe from giant rocks that fall onto campus grounds. At least three students have been seriously injured. One student may never fully recover.

A female student was traveling in a car through the campus with a fellow student. All of a sudden, an enormous rock came crashing down a hillside onto the car. The student suffered permanent injury as a result. This was not an isolated incident, and now, at least two students have filed civil suits against the school. WVU representatives state that they are forbidden to comment on the situation due to pending litigation.

When a West Virginia school fails to keep a student safe on campus, families may wonder what kind of legal recourse would be appropriate to take on behalf of the victim. It may be a good idea to contact an attorney who has experience handling personal injury cases. An attorney can help a client present evidence to a court that demonstrates how carelessness or neglect on the part of another party caused a victim to suffer injury that has negatively affected his or her life, perhaps forever.
