Motor vehicle accidents: 2 injured after car stops on interstate

When drivers strike an object while out on the open road, their first instinct may be to stop the vehicle and check on the well-being of everyone involved. However, bringing a vehicle to a sudden halt while within the lanes of traffic can be dangerous at times and such an action could leave nearby drivers with little time to react to the situation. Motor vehicle accidents involving such a scenario can have disastrous outcomes. A recent incident in West Virginia has reportedly left two individuals with injuries.

According to reports, the crash took place on a recent Friday after a driver struck an animal on a local interstate. Authorities say the driver proceeded to stop the vehicle while still within the lanes of traffic. The driver of a second vehicle was apparently unable to react in time to avoid a crash and proceeded to collide into the rear end of the first vehicle soon thereafter.

Authorities have advised that the driver of the second vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A passenger in the first vehicle was also injured and was taken to a hospital for medical care. Following the crash, authorities have released a statement warning drivers of the potential danger of bring a vehicle to a sudden halt on the interstate and they have warned drivers who face a similar scenario to consider pulling off the side of the road if possible.

Motor vehicle accidents can occur under a variety of scenarios and dealing with the fallout of a crash can be a stressful and challenging experience. Those who suffer severe harm in a collision and wish to seek accountability through the civil justice system could choose to retain the services of an attorney for guidance in the process. An attorney can examine the incident and assist a client in West Virginia in pursuing the restitution entitled through a personal injury claim against the party deemed at fault.
