Motor vehicle accidents: 2 killed in road rage crash

Road rage continues to be a major concern for many drivers in West Virginia and across the nation. Anger and frustration can have a significant influence on the actions a driver makes while out on the road, and motor vehicle accidents that stem from similar forms of negligence run the risk of endangering the safety of everyone involved. Road rage is suspected to have been a contributing factor in a recent head-on crash that killed two individuals.

Police responded to the scene of the crash at around 3:30 p.m. on a recent Wednesday. Prior to accident, they also say they received reports of an apparent road rage incident in which a driver had began shouting at and threatening another person before using his truck to ram the other person's vehicle. While out patrolling in search of the driver, police say they received reports that his truck had crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Police advised that the driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. While the driver who cause the accident was rushed to the hospital for medical care, he reportedly passed away shortly after arriving at the facility. An investigation into the incident has been initiated and police have advised that road rage appears to have been a contributing factor.

Motor vehicle accidents involving drivers who succumb to the effects of road rage can have disastrous results. Those who lose someone close due to such negligent behavior could choose to retain the services of an experienced attorney for guidance on their available options for legal recourse. An attorney can examine the incident and assist a client in West Virginia in pursuing the full amount of compensation entitled through a wrongful death claim.
