Motor vehicle accidents: 2 injured, 1 dead after head-on crash

There are a multitude of circumstances in which a driver may cross into the wrong lane of traffic. Motor vehicle accidents that occur under similar circumstances run the risk of ending in catastrophe, potentially leaving many victims to suffer in a situation that was nearly impossible to avoid. A recent accident that took place under similar circumstances has left two individuals with injuries, and claimed the life of another in West Virginia.

According to reports, the incident took place just before 5 p.m. on a recent Friday when a driver suddenly lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle then proceeded to cross into the wrong lane of traffic and strike another head-on. Both the driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were transported to the hospital for treatment soon thereafter, and the driver who initiated the collision was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have likely initiated an investigation into the incident, which may seek to determine the exact cause thereof. However, no information was provided as to what might have caused the driver to lose control of her vehicle. There may be numerous scenarios in which a head-on collision can occur, and these tend to be some of the most devastating incidents one may ever be forced to experience.

Individuals who suffer serious harm in motor vehicle accidents due to the negligent actions of others may wish to pursue restitution through a personal injury claim. Should the party deemed at fault pass away in the accident, the victim could pursue a claim against his or her estate. Since this can be complex, one could find it beneficial to seek guidance from an experienced attorney in West Virginia for assistance in navigating the process.
