Motor vehicle accidents: Reckless driver injures two

Many individuals may find it challenging to react in time to avoid collision when coming in contact with a reckless driver. Those who exhibit such negligence may place everyone nearby in danger in the process, and motor vehicle accidents that occur under similar circumstances run the risk of ending in disaster. A recent accident involving a seemingly reckless driver has injured two and claimed the life of another in West Virginia.

According to authorities, a call was placed in relation to a driver that was exhibiting erratic and reckless behavior. Before they were able to respond to the scene, they received reports that a collision had occurred. After reportedly nearly missing collision with several other vehicles, the car had crossed into an oncoming lane and struck a pickup truck.

The driver of the car that initiated the collision was pronounced dead soon thereafter. The driver and a passenger in the truck were both rushed to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. It is unclear what might have caused the driver to exhibit such reckless behavior, but the accident victims are likely entitled to pursue restitution through the civil justice system against the estate of the deceased driver and any separate owner of the vehicle he or she was operating.

Those who suffer serious harm in motor vehicle accidents may wish to pursue restitution accordingly, but the process can be stressful and daunting. When facing a similar circumstance, one could benefit from speaking with a personal injury attorney for some much-needed guidance on how best to proceed. An attorney in West Virginia can evaluate the incident, along with a client's injuries and financial needs, and assist in pursuing the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled through a claim against the party deemed at fault.
