Personal injury claims possible after using unsafe food product

A potentially harmful and unregulated food product has come to national attention and could lead to possible personal injury claims as well. This product is known as caffeine powder and is thought to be the source behind the recent death of one young person. Dangerous, unregulated and untested food products such as this could lead to serious physical problems or even death. Consequently, personal injury claims could be filed against the makers and retailers of these types of products.

Caffeine powder is inexpensive and easily bought through major online retailers. This makes it very easy for people to order and try the powder, even if the risk is high. As West Virginia readers may know, this type of substance is generally marketed toward those who avidly workout. According to the United States Food and Drug Administration, this caffeine powder is 100 percent caffeine, which can be very dangerous to the body.

One of the greatest risks of this type of product is the fact that it can be very difficult to measure the correct amount to consume at one time. Too much of the powdered caffeine can have deadly consequences. In fact, the dosages for this product are so small that they require a micro scale for accurate measurement.

According to data collected over a period of four years, there have been at least two deaths likely connected to these types of caffeine products. If any West Virginia individual has suffered physical consequences from a dangerous food product, a personal injury lawsuit could be a viable option to pursue claims for financial damages. Manufacturers should not sell dangerous products to consumers, and all packaging should be carefully labeled with warnings and instructions for proper consumption.
