Motor vehicle accidents: West Virginia crash claims lives

Many individuals may anticipate a car trip with excitement if they are going somewhere enjoyable. Though these journeys may seem harmless, motor vehicle accidents could cause a pleasant trip to turn into a nightmare. When a collision takes place, there is always a chance for injuries, and if those injuries are serious or fatal, legal action could result.

The families of three individuals recently killed in West Virginia may be considering such action. Reports stated that a church minivan was traveling south when a box truck traveling north failed to remain in the correct lane. As a result, the truck collided with the van. There were apparently six individuals in the van at the time of the accident. At least two people were in the truck.

A 17-year-old girl, a 16-year-old girl and another female whose age was not given were all in the van and suffered fatal injuries. Three additional van occupants were injured as were two individuals in the truck. The surviving individuals were treated at an area hospital. Authorities are likely still investigating the incident to determine specific causes.

Fatal motor vehicle accidents can take a considerable toll on a surviving family, and the loved ones of these West Virginia victims will likely face many personal struggles of their own. If they wish, they may find considering wrongful death claims useful to them. Filing such claims against the party or parties considered at fault could allow them to seek compensation for permitted damages as they work to find justice and closure.
