West Virginia woman in personal injury suit with truck driver

A car accident is a terrifying experience, especially when someone has been injured. Car accidents can happen suddenly, often within just split seconds. Most West Virginia residents may be aware that accidents are usually the result of negligence or reckless driving. A woman filed a lawsuit after she sustained personal injury in a car crash.

The accident reportedly took place back in 2012. According to reports, the woman was headed in the northbound direction on the highway, but a vehicle in front of her made an unlawful turn. This act reportedly caused the woman to crash into the vehicle. The exact details or seriousness of the woman’s injuries have not been reported.

According to the lawsuit, the driver of the other vehicle caused the incident while operating a company-owned truck. The lawsuit includes the driver and Radabaugh Trucking Inc. The amount the woman is requesting in compensation has not been disclosed. It is unknown if the driver of the truck received any citations in the wake of the incident.

A car accident can be physically, mentally and financially overwhelming — both for the victims and their families who depend on them for support. Financially, a car accident victim may not be able to work and could sustain lost wages from employment, as well as mounting out-of-pocket medical expenses. A victim may also experience pain and suffering related to their injuries. The civil court system in West Virginia typically adjudicates these types of personal injury lawsuits based upon evidence that the injuries that resulted were caused by the negligence of another party.
