The Science Panel has determined that a probable link exists between C8 (PFOA) and the following 6 diseases:
1. Kidney Cancer
2. Testicular Cancer
3. Ulcerative Colitis
4. Thyroid Disease
5. Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (including preeclampsia)
Persons who have, or subsequently acquire one of the six C8 linked human diseases listed above may have potential claims for compensation based upon C-8 exposure. (Note also that family members of deceased persons who suffered from any of the listed conditions above may also be entitled to claim compensation.) To make a C8 claim, the affected individual (or that individual's representative in the case of a minor or deceased person) should contact an attorney who has experience and knowledge with regard to C-8 Claim Litigation.
Persons who do not have one of the six conditions listed above, or do not subsequently acquire one of the six conditions listed above, do not have any personal injury claim for compensation under the C8 Class Action settlement in Wood County, West Virginia. Nevertheless, any individual who qualifies as a member of the C8 Class Action may be entitled to Medical Monitoring to detect the presence of C8 linked human disease now or in the future.
